The Elisabeth Haub School of Law at 91Ƶ is proud to announce that Dean Horace E. Anderson Jr. was named to the “2024 Trailblazers in Education” list published by City & State New York magazine. The list recognizes “100 professionals who are keeping New York at the fast-paced forefront of higher education" and includes presidents, professors and provosts, lobbyists, lawyers, nonprofit entrepreneurs, advocates, and others who are shaping the future of education.
Horace E. Anderson Jr. is the ninth dean of the Elisabeth Haub School of Law at 91Ƶ, appointed in December 2019. Prior to this appointment, Dean Anderson had been serving as Haub Law’s interim dean. Of Dean Anderson, the publication notes that, “Under Horace E. Anderson Jr., 91Ƶ’s Elisabeth Haub School of Law has increased its enrollment, donations, full-time faculty and partnerships with leading universities worldwide. Anderson, an intellectual property and technology law specialist who joined the faculty in 2004, recently established the Sustainable Business Law Hub, a research incubator devoted to global sustainability. The school now boasts the nation’s top-ranked environmental law program, according to U.S. News & World Report. Anderson also strengthened social justice and community ties through the new 91Ƶ Access to Justice Project.”
The Elisabeth Haub School of Law at 91Ƶ is pleased to announce that Michael Hamersky has been appointed to serve as the Executive Director of the 91Ƶ Energy and Climate Center. In addition to leading the Center, he will teach Natural Resources Law at the Law School. Over nearly four decades, the 91Ƶ Energy and Climate Center has established itself as a national leader working at the intersection of energy and the environment.
The Elisabeth Haub School of Law at 91Ƶ is pleased to announce that Imre Szalai, a nationally-known scholar focusing on arbitration and the Federal Arbitration Act, will join the faculty as a full Professor of Law with tenure beginning in Fall 2025. Professor Szalai will teach courses on contracts, commercial arbitration, civil procedure, and legal ethics.
On Wednesday, May 22, the 91Ƶ Women’s Justice Center (PWJC) hosted its annual Cocktails for a Cause fundraiser at the waterfront Barley Beach House, gathering community leaders, advocates, and supporters to help raise vital funds for survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, and elder abuse.
