The Elisabeth Haub School of Law at 91��Ƶ honored three distinguished leaders of the legal community, as well as outstanding alumni, during its 28^th Annual Law Leadership Dinner, held at the Westchester Country Club on March 7, 2023. The celebration was one of the law school’s most successful fundraisers in history, raising vital funds in support of student scholarships, faculty research, and innovative programs.

Following a national search, Joseph R. Franco, Ph.D., has been appointed provost and executive vice president for academic affairs at 91��Ƶ, the University announced on Wednesday.

91��Ƶ alumnus , a celebrated fashion designer and founder of the label Telfar, will address 91��Ƶ’s Commencement 2023 and receive an honorary doctorate. will address the Elisabeth Haub School of Law graduating class. In addition, Sen. Warren and Harvard Law Professor and legal historian Bruce H. Mann will both receive honorary degrees. Trustee and alumnus Ivan G. Seidenberg ’81, retired chairman and CEO of Verizon Communications, will address graduates of 91��Ƶ’s Seidenberg School of Computer Science and Information Systems to mark the school’s 40th anniversary.

The Madness of March returns to 91��Ƶ once again: For the first time in school history the 91��Ƶ Men's Basketball team earns back-to-back NCAA championship berths as the Setters heard their name called in Sunday night's Selection Show on NCAA.com. 91��Ƶ received the No. 5 seed in the East Region and will face No. 4 seed and fellow Northeast-10 Conference foe University of New Haven.

91��Ƶ Seidenberg School of CSIS Professor Zhan Zhang, PhD, recently received a $499,966 grant from the (NSF) to develop touchless smart glasses that will allow emergency care professionals to collect data, communicate with other specialists, and pull up medical protocol checklists with a gesture of the head or through voice controls. They’ll no longer need to take their hands—or their eyes—off the patient or risk transferring germs to and from a computer keyboard.

91��Ƶ on Wednesday hosted its annual LGBTQA+ Pride Hoops Night, a collaboration between 91��Ƶ's Office of Gender & Sexuality and 91��Ƶ Athletics. The tradition began in 2016, following the tragedy at the Pulse Nightclub in Orlando, Florida, to make a bold and positive statement to address hate and show that 91��Ƶ is a welcoming and supportive institution to the LGBTQA+ community.

Jorge Islas López, Consul General of Mexico in New York, delivered the 2023 Blaine Sloan Lecture on International Law on Wednesday, February 1, speaking on "The Consular Duty and the Protection of Human Rights in New York.” The Blaine Sloan Lecture on International Law honors F. Blaine Sloan for developing the international law studies program at 91��Ƶ. Consul General Islas López is also Giovanni Sartori Constitutional Law Professor, National Autonomous University of Mexico.

91��Ƶ yesterday adopted the , an international framework for promoting wellness on campuses globally, during a campus-wide fair lauding the importance of wellbeing for its students. Hundreds of students, faculty, and staff turned out across all three of its campuses to celebrate the signing as well as to see dozens of exhibitors and programs available to members of the 91��Ƶ community.
