Our distinctive Paths to Practice approach provides students with a clear roadmap for pursuing their chosen area of law, emphasizing the practical knowledge and skills required for success in specific specialties. Students learn under the guidance of expert faculty, including leaders in international commercial arbitration and nationally recognized mediation practitioners.
Clinics
The Fairbridge Investor Rights Clinic represents small investors in securities arbitrations and mediations who cannot obtain counsel due to the size of their claims. Under faculty supervision, student interns advocate on behalf of clients in proceedings before FINRA Dispute Resolution, providing critical access to justice while gaining hands-on experience in investor protection.
The Mediation Practicum offers students a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience serving as mediators in Small Claims Court cases, while engaging with guest speakers from the court system and leading mediation institutions. Approved under Part 146 by the New York State Unified Court System’s Office of ADR Programs, the course satisfies state requirements and includes at least 24 hours of initial mediation training.
Our top-ranked Advocacy Program provides a practice-focused approach to dispute resolution, equipping students with foundational and advanced instruction in trial practice and the art of client counseling. Through rigorous classroom training, hands-on simulations and opportunities to compete throughout the year, students develop the strategic, analytical, and interpersonal skills essential to effective representation.
