2026 Honorary Degree Recipient
The Honorable Francesca E. Connolly 鈥82, Associate Justice of the Appellate Division of the New York State Supreme Court, Second Judicial Department, will deliver the Elisabeth Haub School of Law's 2026 Commencement Address and receive the Doctor of Laws, honoris causa, the highest honor conferred by the Law School, recognizing her distinguished leadership in public service.

Schedule for Law Commencement
Graduates should plan to arrive NO LATER THAN 8:30 a.m. on Tuesday. IMPORTANT: Please give yourself extra time for parking and walking to the stadium. Be prepared for traffic, parking congestion, and to walk a significant distance 鈥 and PLAN ACCORDINGLY so you are not late for this important day.
8:30 a.m. - Graduate/Guest Arrival (USTA Tennis Center, Main Entrance)
Check in at the Law Table to receive your YELLOW CARD9:00 a.m. - Graduate Line Up for Processional
(Louis Armstrong Stadium, Right Side Entrance Gated Area)9:30 a.m. - Law School Ceremony Begins Promptly 鈥 ends at 11:05 a.m.
IMPORTANT: After the ceremony, please exit the building quickly and meet your guests in the courtyard for photos and greetings. Additional ceremonies will be taking place in the stadium immediately following. Please convey this information to your family and guests!
Tickets/Seating
Access your 鈥淪tage Pass鈥 and Guest Tickets by logging into and clicking the 鈥淎ccess Your Stage Pass鈥 button. When entering the venue, you can display your Stage Pass on your mobile device or print it out in advance and bring it with you.
NOTE: You will NOT scan your Stage Pass on stage 鈥 you will hand your yellow card to the reader to read your name and degree.
Seating is general admission and first-come first-served. Priority seating is reserved for family members of Alumni who have pre-registered to hood a graduate, as well as families of student speakers/awardees.

What to Bring
Don鈥檛 leave home without the items below and make sure to check the .
- Your 91视频 ID
- Your Cellphone 鈥 make sure it is fully charged to access your Stage Pass and guest tickets
- Print Outs of your Stage Pass and guest tickets 鈥 we recommend that students and guests take a screenshot of the ticket QR code and/or bring print outs with you
- Your Regalia 鈥 don鈥檛 forget to arrive with your wrinkle-free, gown, hood, cap and tassel
(Following commencement, return your regalia to Herf Jones using the prepaid shipping label you received to avoid being charged. The tassel is yours to keep.)
Transportation and Parking
The USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center is easily accessible by public transit (subway and Long Island Railroad) or car. for specific information. Event parking is available for a fee at Citi Field (Mets stadium), located next to the Tennis Center. NOTE: If you plan to take Uber, Lyft, or another car service to the stadium, there is a designated drop-off location at Roosevelt Avenue and Seaver Way, near the subway station. From there, you will need to walk a short distance to the stadium. Please note that even if you enter the USTA address into the app, you will automatically be redirected to this designated drop-off point, as vehicle access on Meridian Road is restricted to help reduce traffic congestion. For those who have already registered, a bus will depart from the law school campus at 7:00 am and return to the law school following the Ceremony.
What to Expect
Check-In: 8:30 a.m.
Upon arrival, all graduates must check-in at the Law School鈥檚 registration table located at the front gate and pickup their yellow card. It is very important that you do not lose this card as you will hand it to the announcer on stage to present you. The QR code on the card will be used to display your name on the large screens as you proceed across the stage. Your digital Stage Pass will not be used during the Law School鈥檚 ceremony, so please hold onto your yellow card and do not fold it. Please note the number on your card, as it will also be used as the order for processional line-up.
Processional Lineup: 9:00 a.m.
Promptly at 9:00 a.m., please assemble at the right side door of the Louis Armstrong Stadium inside the gated areas (by the check-in table) to line up for the processional. SJDs, LLMs, Student Speakers and Awardees will go to the front of the line, and all other students will assemble in alphabetical order based on the number on your yellow card. Students will be led into the stadium by Professor Miles. Ushers will be in place to assist with seating. Please file into your seats as quickly as possible to keep the processional moving!
Receiving Your Diploma on Stage
During the law school ceremony, graduates鈥 names will be called by order of degree (LLM first, then JD) and then by the order in which you are seated. Graduates will be signaled to rise one row at time and line up at the stage. You will hand your yellow card to the announcer to scan and proceed across the stage as your name is called. Place your hood on your left arm and hand it to the hooder, then turn and face the audience as you are hooded from behind. Then you will continue across stage and have the opportunity to shake hands with Judge Connolly. You will then continue to Dean Anderson who will present you with a symbolic diploma.

Photos
A photographer will be positioned in front of the stage to capture your special moment as you cross. Don鈥檛 forget to smile! After you receive your diploma, you will exit from the stage and pause to take a portrait with your diploma before you return to your seat. Following commencement you will have the opportunity to purchase your portrait.

Recessional
When the ceremony ends, please remain seated until the faculty exits. Graduates will be led out of the stadium by Professor Miles in the same order you came in. After the ceremony, all students and their guests should exit the building quickly and meet in the courtyard for photos and greetings. Additional ceremonies will be taking place in the stadium immediately following.
