10:30 a.m.鈥11:30 a.m. | New York City Campus, Zannino Room
AI is everywhere. While some are rushing to integrate AI into every aspect of life, others are rejecting the technology altogether despite unknowingly already using it. This workshop with Bushra Tasneem takes a different approach: critical engagement for justice.
Through real-world case studies and a hands-on algorithmic auditing exercise, learn a practical framework for evaluating AI systems and asking the questions that matter: What data trained it? Who built it? Who is affected by it? And who is accountable when it fails? Leave with tools to approach AI with curiosity, scrutiny, and a deeper understanding of how these systems shape the world around us.
Bushra holds a Master of Engineering in Computer Science from Cornell University and a Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics and Computer Science from Smith College. A data engineer, she is passionate about using technology to bridge inequality and drive social impact, and cares deeply about feminist approaches to justice.
