Parking and Transportation

  • Parking Permits: All commuter students must register for a valid parking permit. Permits are available online through the and will be mailed to you.
  • Commuter Lots: There are so many areas open to commuter students on campus for you to park! Daytime parking for commuter students with a C permit is available in Lots A, B, C, D, E, F, G, I, P, T, U, and X. There is limited parking in Lot H behind Choate House as it is super close to Kessel Student Center, so this is a popular spot!Overnight parking (7:00 p.m.–7:00 a.m.) for commuter students is available in Lots O, T, and R.
  • Public Transportation: Commuter students are able to get free and quick transportation to and from the Pleasantville train station by using our shuttle services! You can check the Pleasantville 91ÊÓÆµ Shuttle Schedules to see when it runs and plan your commute accordingly. (Be mindful, this schedule changes every semester.)

    This shuttle takes you from the Pleasantville Campus to the Pleasantville Town Memorial Plaza Train Station. In the evening, it also stops at the Thornwood Shopping Center. You can also view the Intercampus Shuttle Service Schedule (schedule changes every semester). This shuttle takes you to both of our other campuses, located in White Plains and NYC. To ride this shuttle, reservations are required 48 hours prior to boarding, and you can email the Transportation Department to reserve your seat.

    • Always try to arrive on campus a little early as parking is very limited at times!
    • Allow time in your schedule for public transportation delays

Study Spaces on Campus

  • Mortola Library: The library is a space on campus that is adored by so many commuters. Because of its versatility, commuter students utilize this space more often than not. The library offers quiet study zones, group rooms, computer access, and printing services. Reserve study spaces online through the .
  • Study Rooms: Study rooms are private, quiet, and in a localized area on campus to get a lot of work done in between classes. The Library offers these on the first and second floors where you can book to study with friends or book a study pod just for yourself.
  • Commuter Lounge: Located on the second floor of the library, this space offers a relatively quiet area where commuters can study, do homework, and connect with others. It also includes a sink, fridge, cubbies, and microwave for use during breaks.
  • Learning Commons: If you are looking for some extra support academically, visiting the learning commons in your spare time is the perfect opportunity! They offer tutoring, academic coaching, and collaborative spaces for group projects. Visit the Learning Commons website to learn more!

    • Mornings and late afternoons are often quieter times in these spaces, and it is often easier to find open seating! So these are great times to get some studying done on campus.

Food Options On and Off Campus

  • On-Campus Dining: There’s a cafeteria in Kessel where one can get meals using their meal plan money. There are a variety of options including a deli, grill, pizza, sushi, salad, smoothies, and more! Depending on what you are craving, you can always find it in Kessel!
  • Grab-and-Go Spots: Quick-service locations for you to grab a snack or quick bite in between classes are available in Miller! There are also vending machines that are located in each academic building for your use.
  • Student Run Business: Visit our student run business! We have several of them on campus. A few of them include: 91ÊÓÆµ Perk Cafe, 91ÊÓÆµ Mart, 91ÊÓÆµ Deliver, and 91ÊÓÆµ Fit. All of these are great spots to stop for a snack, smoothie, convenience items, and more! See all of the student run businesses.
  • Nearby Restaurants: Getting off-campus in your free time is a great way to use your flex money and distress with friends. We have some great food options in the town of Pleasantville. From pizza to tacos, delis, and more - there is so much to choose from. Some restaurants that we love are Sal’s Pizza and Pasta, The Taco Project, Falafel Taco, and On's Chinese Restaurant; These locations all accept 91ÊÓÆµ Flex Dollars too!

  • Library & Learning Commons: Visiting the learning commons and library is a great way to spend your downtime when you are on-campus. They offer free academic support, tutoring, research help, and have so many quiet study areas. This includes private study rooms and pods that you can reserve. These are all great places for commuters to study and relax.
  • : We have dedicated career counselors for every school who can help you with searching and applying for jobs, internships, and more! Visit their office if you are looking to spruce up your resume, prepare for an interview, or start the job application process.
  • Counseling & Wellness Center: Looking for some support during your free time on campus? Visit the counseling center! They offer free support for stress, anxiety, or personal challenges you may be facing by a trained clinicians.
  • : All commuter students have access to utilize our Goldstein Fitness Center gym on campus at no cost. This includes all of the equipment, fitness rooms, and pool. This is a great way to spend your time before or after class if you are looking to get a quick workout in!
  • Technology Help Desk: The ITS Help Desk is available to all students for help with Wi-Fi, student accounts, and campus software.
  • Ride Share Program: This program connects commuters with other commuters who share similar commutes and are interested in carpooling. This is a great way to reduce travel costs and contribute to a healthier environment.

Wellness and Time Management Tips

  • Balance Your Schedule: Plan out your day before leaving for campus. This will help you to feel prepared to accomplish everything on your busy schedule. Be sure to add in breaks, time to eat, and see friends. In addition, when planning your academic schedule for the semester, it is especially important for commuters to try and group classes together to reduce commute time and have downtime on campus.
  • Use Your Time Wisely: When in between classes, be sure to take advantage of all of the great spots we have on campus to study, grab a bite to eat, visit campus offices for support, and attend events! This will help you to make the most out of your experience here, while still checking everything off of your to-do list.
  • Stress Relief: Being a full-time student, commuting, having responsibilities at home, and keeping up with your social life can be exhausting. It is important for you to do things for YOU to relieve some of that stress and anxiety. With this, be sure to attend wellness related events when they are offered on campus. These normally include therapy dogs, spa days, stress management events, and more!
